Showcase: Nurgle Plague Drones

Here they are finished, Ladies and Gentlemen! Three exquisite Plague Drones of Nurgle and of course their rinders.

When these models were released I considered getting them to paint them up just because they look so nice. Luckily enough they were sent to me by a client to paint them up for him. Neat. I went for a more colourful look than the 'Eavy Metal team's, drawing inspiration from lots of real life insects.

The mounts reminded me much more of wasps of even grasshoppers and I thought that a green-ish  colour would look very striking on the table and would contrast well with the turquoise carapace. The wings were interesting to paint. Would have been great if GW had included them as clear plastic parts but they work very well as they are.

Speaking of the properties of the models themselves - GW really have hit a mark with their plastic. It's sturdy enough but also very soft and flexible so it won't snap. With models as fragile as these, you'd expect them to snap easily. Well, transporting those surely won't be easy but handling them isn't a problem.

So - great models really. Fun to paint. Hope you like them. :)
