Showcase: Star Wars Characters Pt. 3

Wow, last post of the year! Let's celebrate by having three very cool characters at once, okay? First we got Davith Elso and the one and only Obi-Wan Kenobi! I think the model really does him justice.

And look who we got here - if it isn't Lando Calrissian!

Just such a cool model. :D Very flashy and very Lando.

Merry Christmas from Battle Brush Studios!

Showcase: Star Wars ISB Infiltrators

These chaps here are ISB Infiltrators. The ISB (Imperial Security Bureau) being the New Order's secret police/ intelligence organization. Nasty people.

I tried to go with overall blue combat armour, but with a purple shade as to make them look a bit sinister, but still pleasant to the eye.

Showcase: Star Wars Characters Pt.2

Today I present you with some more Star Wars Imperial Assault characters. It's the Grand Inquisitor and Murne Rin.

I really enjoyed painting the Murne Rin figure. Star Wars aliens rock, especially when wearing nice, colourful clothes!

Showcase: Star Wars Ugnaught Tinkerers

Today I would like to show you some Ugnaught Tinkerers! Why? Because they look remarkable.

I think that in my Top10 list of Pig People in any Sci-Fi franchise they must be #2, right after actual Pigs in Space of course.

Showcase: Star Wars Wing Guard

Here's another Star Wars update. This time it's the very well-clad Wing Guard. Red base rims depict Elites/Leaders.

Showcase: Star Wars Characters Pt.1

On to some characters! All baddies this time. From left to right: Agent Blaise, Bossk and Greedo!

Here's a nice conspiracy theory: FFG's Han Solo figure (posted earlier)...

...clearly is depicted firing his Blaster. Greedo is depicted as drawing the gun from the holster. Clearly a sign that Han shot first! ;-)

Showcase: Star Wars Bantha Rider

Yup it's Star Wars time again! Starting off this batch with a cuddly Bantha with a less cuddly Tusken Raider on top.

Showcase: 15mm WW2 Germans for Normandy, Pt.6

After I showed the pictures of the finished force to my friend he said he was ready as well. Which sounded ominous. Then I remembered the allied air force, remembered that the Luftwaffe probably wouldn't show up for the games and decided to add some camouflage to the vehicles.

Showcase: Blood Rage

Here's something I painted earlier this year and haven't had a chance to post yet - it's a full game of Blood Rage!

Showcase: 15mm WW2 Germans for Normandy, Pt.5

Time to roll out the big guns! The particular scenarios we're going to play take place without any proper armoured support, so instead only makeshift solutions with German guns bolted onto leftover French vehicles are available.

Showcase: 15mm WW2 Germans for Normandy, Pt.4

More support for my German platoon! From left to right: Panzerschreck team, MG42 on tripod team (the leader is from a PSC kit. He's a bit weedy, but above all his helmet covers pretty much all his face weirdly. Maybe I should have painted on holes to look out of) and a flamethrower team. Flamethrowers are nasty and scary. They clear buildings and they do it well.

Showcase: 15mm WW2 Germans for Normandy

These actually are minis I painted for one of my own projects - the Kampfgruppe von Luck pint-sized campaign for Too Fat Lardies' Chain of Command (the link leads to a rules review written by me) rules.

Happy Halloween!

That's it pretty much. :) Watch films, meet friends, have foods. Play miniature games!

Maybe don't dress up as any sort of clown this year. And if you're really, really tall and lanky don't wear a black suit. :P Have fun, be safe.

Showcase:15mm WW2 Field Fortifications

Here are some nice WW2 field fortifications with a slight urban theme by Baueda Wargames. I painted these straight out of the box (well, I cleaned them). These are all one-piece resin casts. Three large ones (which can be paired up for larger all-around ruins and one smaller one. These are sized to fit Flames of War bases (of course), but they work equally well for single-based 15mm figures. I can't help but think that the sandbags look a tad large, but that's no real issue.

I tried to go for realistic looking mortar between the bricks for the first time using white putty. Painting those actually was rather fast, and was equally fun playing around with weathering, all kindsa of dust looks and so on.

For a very short review: These are good and Baueda got a pretty nice variety on fortifications and such. Well worth checking out.

P.S.: This is the preview of a whole bunch of posts about a WW2 Normandy 1944 project, so stay tuned!

Showcase: Dreadfleet Grimnir's Thunder (and monsters!)

Grimnir's Thunder, always a fan favourite. Again, a very unique design AND it comes with a unique auxiliary vessel!

Sonntag, 9. Oktober 2016

Showcase: Mordheim Skaven Assassins

As the title says! It's a whole lot of Skaven Assassins (and a flag bearer) for a Mordheim Skaven warband! You can see two incarnations of Snikch, at the centre and the far left. Very nice minis, all of them. I kept the rusty theme on the blades I use throughout this warband, enhanced by some poison looking stuff. Everything warpstone-related is glowing a bit.

Showcase: Dreadfleet Heldenhammer

It's huge and red and has an unholy amount of firepower and a giant mechanical golden man with a huge hammer in the front - it's the Heldenhammer!

Alright, here's my most recent Saga related project! It's reinforcements for one of the Frankish warbands I built/converted and painted for a customer a while ago!

Review: Warmachine Cephalyx Mind Slaver & Drudges

Around the end of June Privateer Press released new editions of their popular Warmachine and Hordes skirmish wargames rules.I thought it was time to take this as an occasion to review some Warmachine figures, so let's have a look at the Cephalyx Mind Slaver & Drudges box.

WIP: Imperial Reaver Titan Painting #4

Being done with the inside details of the model (well, almost), I'm proceeding to the armoured bits.

Here are a few samples of what I'm working on at the moment. The titan will be part of Legio Crucius, just like the Warhound I did a while ago for the same customer.

So yeah, this is going to be quite impressive when done. Stay tuned!

WIP: Imperial Reaver Titan Painting #3

These here are the side panels inside the back compartment of the main body of the titan. The two chaps who attempt to throw their hands in the air to wave them as if they certainly did not care are the gun servitors for the main armament left and right. The screens show vital information. And again, all of this will be very hard to see once the model is fully assembled, so this is the best anybody will probably ever see these again. Drink it in, man.

WIP: Imperial Reaver Titan Painting #2

Traditionally I start painting titans from the inside out, meaning I do the interior first and then work on the outsides.

Donnerstag, 7. Juli 2016

WIP: Imperial Reaver Titan Painting #1

Starting out with the little things, here's the Techpriest. Just a quick paintjob, as he'll be glued into the back compartment of the titan, working on some console with the back turned to the viewer, so this is the best look anyone will ever get of him.

I actually painted him between putting together the titan, because I was just so sick of cleaning resin parts and I wanted to paint again. Some variety helps.

Hope you like him. With the next update we'll go on to bigger things!

WIP: Imperial Reaver Titan Build #3

The beast is slain! Well, not, it's standing tall, but you know what I mean. The #bloodytitan is put together.

Donnerstag, 23. Juni 2016

WIP: Reaver Titan Build #1

I'm not only painting Dreadfleet at the moment, but also a Reaver Titan. Not just that, I also get to clean and build the big guy.

Review: Terminator Genisys Heavy Weapon Endoskeletons

Terminator review

Remember how there was a Terminator film last year? The reason why this film is remembered all the way to this day is because River Horse (Alessio Cavatore's game design company), with Warlord's backing, made a miniatures game based on that license. Human resistance fighters fighting it out with machines.
