Showcase: Guildball Veterans!

Here's a quick in-between batch of Guild Ball miniatures. Mostly veteran versions of models I painted prior for various teams, plus Hag and of course the great Memory and Brainpan.

Good to see Steamforged constantly improving the quality of the sculpts and casts. Certainly not cheap, but the minis are top quality. The rules also are said to be really solid.

Showcase: Nurgle Poxwalkers

As some of you are aware I bought the new 40k starter box at release. First I wrote a 4-part review of the new rules and an overview of what's in the new bigbox. All of that you can read here: pt.1 , pt.2 , pt.3 , pt.4

Of course I gotta paint the minis from the box as well, starting with the Poxwalkers. In my opinion most interesting sculpts from the box.

I'm still not perfectly happy with the basing; I guess I should add some vegetation or something to it, but I'll choose on that once all the Nurgle minis are finished.  For now the Poxwalkers are done, and the horns weren't even as bothersome to paint than I thought. Hooray! Hope you like them.

Oh, and today's my birthday. W00t!

Showcase: Bigger ACW-Regiments Pt.3!

As mentioned before, here are the 2nd Louisiana 'Alligator Rangers' with their base size increased from 6 to 8.

I took the liberty to use single bases on two of the horsemen too just in case I feel like playing something skirmish-y.

Of course this means I also have to add four more dismounted cavalry. Good thing I still have a bunch of half-painted dismounted Confederate cavalrymen from the Sash&Saber range. :) Now where did I put those models....

Showcase: Bigger ACW-Regiments Pt.2!

My next step toward a campaign-sized force for Longstreet was bumping my Butternut-clad regiment up to 10 bases.

Showcase: Bigger ACW-Regiments Pt.1!

A Longstreet campaign is becoming a thing again for our group, and thus I'm required to bump my usually 6-bases ACW units up to 10 bases each, at least three of them. Luckily the Perrys plastics boxes come with a lot of figures, so I still had a good reserve. I started with the 3rd Louisiana in their regulation dress which probably was never widely introduced at all.

Painting these additional 4 bases (the ones in the front, apart from the command base) made me really appreciate the older Perrys ACW plastic infantry. They're just very nice to paint and aren't much work to put together. Brilliant, perfectly serviceable gaming pieces.

Showcase: Super Dungeon Explore Pt.15

It's the flamey dudes! In the back you can see that Roxxor himself (the Big'Un) is still WIP in that shot, the rest is done. Really cool little figures.
