Showcase: By Fire and Sword Army Shots

Time to wrap this up with some nice army shot of the whole mid-17th century Imperial force.

Well, not the whole force to be honest, because I couldn't squeeze them all in the shot. So imagine this plus a bunch more Dragoons and infantry. A proper army!

...and it's hard to beat the 'proper army look'.

Working on this project was interesting. I love working on proper armies, but was under serious time constraints on this one. In the end everything worked out swimmingly though.

Hope you like this army, and feel free to contact me if you would like to have one of those done for yourself too!

  1. That's a great looking army! Are the houses and church in the background also coming from By Fire and Sword (Wargamer.PL)? They also look very good.

    1. Hi Wim,

Thanks for the comment. These are (actually quite expensive.) model train buildings by Vollmer (N-scale, so circa 1/160th). Originally I got those to go with my 10mm Thirty Years War figures, but when I put them up next to each other the buildings proved much too large in size. My 10mm dudes had no problems getting through doors on horseback.

So I'm using the buildings for 15mm figures now, for which they fit much better in size (for some reason). The building kits themselves are really nice. Crisp casting, nice details.
