Heyhey, it's been a while since the last update. The reason being that I was busy finishing stuff! I'm back now, and here's my annual show report of Austrian Salute.

Here's the show report of last weekend's Austrian Salute 2025!

Austrian Salute 2025!

Heyhey, just a quick heads-up: I'll be at Austrian Salute again this year on the 22nd of March. They're at a new venue now which is said to be really neat. So even more of a reason to look forward to this event.

Always a pleasure, and despite the thing being a smaller event, the quality and selection of games more than makes up for it. I also just dig the atmosphere; it's always a great get-together. For further information on the event or if you have questions, check out this forum thread.

Hope to see you there!

November shows!

Heyhey, just a quick announcement about the shows I'll attend in November: Saturday, 16th November I'll be at Yella Yella in Vienna at a unique event taking place for the first time at which the organizers invite kids and parents to be introduced to the miracles of role-playing games, tabletop miniature games and figure painting. The latter will be my job.

The weekend thereafter (23rd, 24th) I'll be at both days of Vienna Comic Con again, along with my close personal friends Claudia Christian and Michael Winslow. Just kidding: They're proper famous people, I'm just me. But you can drop by and we paint a little figure!

Hope you see you there!

Show Report: A1 eSports Festival / Spielefest 2024

Bunch of weeks ago I was asked to participate at the tabletop wargaming portion of Austria eSports Festival / Spielefest at Vienna International Centre. So the 2024 springtime shows circuit got a bit bigger than usual and ran until June 15th and 16th.

Following El Cid and Moiti's call, I spent the past weekend at Leobendorf again, right at the Austro-German border, for Comitatus' wargames club's Late Fall event.

Show Report: Austrian Salute 2023

Saturday, June 3rd, finally had us all gather for Austrian Salute again, after a 3 years hiatus. The day before I packed up lots of paints, paintbrushes, showcase figures, figures to deliver to some people I would meet there, the glass cabinet and all the other stuff and drove off to Oberndorf in Salzburg.

Show Report: Tabletop Knights Gaming Day 2023

The past weekend I attended the Tabletop Knights' Gaming Day 2023. After 3 years I returned to lovely Marktl in Bavaria.

Happy New Year!

Just a quick one - happy new year, everybody! 2023 will bring a lot of cool and most of all pleasant things.

All the best from Battle Brush Studios. :-)

The GREAT Wargaming Survey 2022!

Heyhey, it's time again for the 2022 installment of the Great Wargaming Survey. For many years now, Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy magazine would like to know about your wargaming preferences and opinions, so we all get a nice look at some trends and developments in the wargaming world.

Each participant gets a discount code for a purchase at Karawansaray Publishing's website and a handful of free PDF articles from past issues of WSS magazine. If you choose to supply an e-mail adress as well you can take part in a prize draw.

It's a good thing and in the past led to some very interesting insights. Give it a shot and tell your friends. The wider a group they reach, the more conclusive the results are.

Today's Halloween, so let's look at the spooky zombies and skeletons!

The Great Wargaming Survey 2021

The Great Wargaming Survey 2021 is here! Each year Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy Magazine run a huge survey among wargamers to find out trends, news, and the general vibe in our most beloved hobby.

With all the annoyances we had to deal with the past year (from pandemics to Brexit), this year's survey should be especially interesting. So here's the link:

https://gws2021.paperform.co/

If that wasn't enough of an incentive to participate, there's a prize draw for everybody who takes the 5-10 minutes to fill out the survey. The more of us participate, the more accurate and a better overview we'll get of the state of wargaming.

If you're interested in past years' surveys and articles about the findings therein, you can have a look at the articles archives here:

https://www.karwansaraypublishers.com/wss_gws/

It's a good thing, that survey, so it would be great if you'd participate. Thanks!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from the Frontlines! Enjoy, be safe, stay in, and we'll meet again outside dancing, prancing, kissing and hugging again next year!

GoModelling2020 cancelled

Due to general measures to combat the spread of COVID-19/Corona virus larger gatherings of people have been called off. Which means that Go Modelling 2020 is cancelled. I suppose we'll have to wait for next year then to meet at Vienna Army Museum!

Chat: Spring Shows 2020!

Just a quick note on the shows I'll attend in the near future: this weekend (14th/15th March) I'll be at GoModelling2020 at Vienna Army Museum. Last year was a great experience with loads of visitors and many, many eager painting participants.

I'll showcase miniatures, I'll have the painting workshop with me and some figures for you to paint and take home with you. So drop by if you're in the area!

The Saturday (21st March) thereafter I'll be at Austrian Salute at Gasthaus Leobendorf, doing the same. Always a great event.

At the end of April (25th April) I'll be at Tabletop Knights' Gaming Day again in Marktl, Germany.

Hope to see you at these events!
