Showcase. Nova Aetas Pt.5

Here we got two big monsters also included in the game: It's the odd couple - dragon and manticore!

Showcase: Nova Aetas Pt.2

Right, here's part two of the Nova Aetas series. Today we'll look at the Vatican's warband, including the Pontifex Maximus in full armour. Why? Because he Vati-Can!

Showcase: Nova Aetas Pt.1

Nova Aetas is a fully co-operative board wargame set in a fantasy Version of 16th century Italy.

Review: Chasseurs á Cheval 1808 - 1815

Hey, look at this! It's a miniatures review. It's been a while since I've done one of these. Recently a box of the new-ish plastic Chasseurs á Cheval by Perry Miniatures came into my possession. Good enough a reason to review them!

Showcase: Infinity Army Shots

To top it all off, here's a full shot of both armies from the Operation Icestorm box (plus CSU).

Sonntag, 4. August 2019

Showcase: Infinity PanO Army

Here's the rest of the PanO team! These are all from the Operation Icestorm box, plus the TO Cutter TAG we've seen on the last post.

Showcase: Pirates of the Dread Sea Wave #2 and Kickstarter

Heyhey, today I'd like to show you the upcoming releases for Pirates of the Dread Sea: The undead warband and the human crew. Both (including the Pirates of the Dread Sea skirmish rules) are currently up on Kickstarter, so don't hesitate and back this project if you want the minis and the rules!

Montag, 29. Juli 2019

Showcase: Infinity PanOceania TO Cutter

This one's not from the Operation Icestorm box, but an individual addition. It's a mighty and pretty TAG, a TO Cutter.

Showcase: Infinity Corporate Security Unit

This is Operation Icestorm's 'bonus figure' to the box. It's a CSU, a Corporate Security Unit. Which is basically a really well dressed bodyguard for business types.

Showcase: Infinity Nomads

The next few articles will be about a collection of Infinity figures I painted a while ago, but for some reason haven't posted so far.  Let's start with the Nomads, because I like Nomads.

Showcase: Austrian Napoleonic Limber

To round off the little series on Austrian Napoleonics we're taking a look at a Limber and artillery train drivers.

Samstag, 13. Juli 2019

Showcase: Austrian Napoleonic Hussars

Keeping with the unbased Napoleonic Austrian theme, here are Hussars of Hussars Regiment No.1 "Kaiser Franz".

Showcase: Austrian Napoleonic Infantry

Today I would like to show you some Austrian Napoleonic infantry I just painted. Hungarian infantry, infantry regiment no.32, to be precise

Showcase: 6mm Great Northern War Saxons

Up to now the collection of 6mm Great Northern War figures I painted lacked one of the big players in the war - the Saxons.

Sonntag, 23. Juni 2019

Showcase: 6mm Great Northern War Swedes and Baggage

Now for the Swedes, for whom of course I already painted quite a sizeable force. This time it's the man himself, Charles XII., more cavalry in the characteristic wedge formation, and more infantry, wearing the also characteristic Karpus hats.

Showcase: 6mm Great Northern War Russians

Right, on to the troops. First, some reinforcements for the Russians, in the shape of Grenadiers and Streltsy.

The Russian army of Peter the Great had Grenadiers form their own separate Battalions. And if you have some time, read up about the Streltsy. Fascinating stuff. Each time I glance over Russian history a little I realize how much I don't know. It's embarassing really. There's so much interesting stuff to know.

Anyway, hope you like the minis. Stay tuned for more over the next days!

Showcase: British Camel Corps

Now for something different - here we got mounted 1st Grenadier Guards, Guards Camel Regiment for the Gordon Relief expedition.

Showcase: Let's go Camping!

Breaking up the Infinity theme for a bit with some terrain items I quickly painted up for display stuff and games.

WIP: Infinity Haqqislam Reinforcements

One of the main reasons why I posted the army/armies shot a few days ago is that I'm currently working on reinforcements for the Haqqislam and Yu Jing (more on these guys later) armies from that shot.

Here's a WIP shot of the new Haqqislam figures, with lots of stuff around them to distract from the unfinished state. ;-) These should be done in a few days, so stay tuned!

Showcase: Infinity Army/Armies Shot

Here's a snazzy little army shot of some Infinity figures I did last fall. In fact it's an "armies" shot due to the Infinity nomenclature in which each combat team is called an army. So we got a bunch of Haqqislam dudes and dudettes in the left, Yu Jing in the centre (the shiny yellow armour was a bit of an experiment. Could be done better, but I'm rather satisfied with the results, and in the far right we got a PanOceania army, all in shiny dark blue armour, because I'm just a sucker for shiny dark blue on sci-fi/cyberpunk things.

Hope you like the shot, and stay tuned for more Infinity figures in the not-so-distant future!

Showcase: 17th century Nasties

Finally rounding off the Imperial army project on a more sombre note, with a bunch of casualty markers and some battlefield nasties after the jump.

Donnerstag, 28. Februar 2019

Showcase: Imperial Reiters and Dragoons

Proceeding with the 15mm Imperial force for By Fire and Sword, here we got some regular and 'not really' cavalry.

Mittwoch, 20. Februar 2019

Showcase: Imperial Infantry and Artillery

Here's even more Imperial infantry. Just a few pikemen in the back and in the middle you can see 'new style' musketeers, with lighter muskets, paper cartidges and all of that fancy stuff.

Showcase: By Fire and Sword Imperial Skirmish Force

Diving back into the 17th century! Here's an Imperial skirmish force consisting of a bunch of pikemen, musketeers and dragoons.

Also: cannons snuck in behind some field fortifications. All 15mm in size, all by Wargamer.pl for the By Fire and Sword rules. Really nice figures, and it's great how Wargamer.pl took on the challenge of making a huge 17th century range to popularize this period.

WIP: Inquisitor Eisenhorn

A quick WIP shot of another Inquisitor Eisenhorn. At this point he's mostly done, but needs some final smoothing out of things and so on. To distract from all these little problems I used a fancy backdrop. :-P

Note the slightly different colouring on the shoulder armour compared to an Eisenhorn I painted last year, who was more along the lines of the studio paintjob.

Review: Northumbrian Tinsoldier Miniatures

Today I'll have a closer look at one of the most characterful new range of miniatures of recent years. It's figures by Northumbrian Tinsoldier.
