Showcase: Spanish Grenadiers 1808

 

Heyhey, here's some Spanish grenadiers for 1808!

They are of the first regiment "Ray", which to my knowledge is the very first standing regiment in history altogether. 

The figures are by Front Rank and thus pretty great by definition. Pretty impressive dudes, right? What's really a nice view is their rear though: 

Just a bit of freehanding on those bags. Interesting exercise, and very much worth the time. You may joke about a Spanish unit looking better from the back than from the front, and it's hard to argue against that in this case. 

Anyway, first time I painted Napoleonic Spanish. And a pretty neat looking unit as well! Hope you like them!
