Show Report: Austrian Salute 2026

 

Heyhey, it's been a while since the last update. The reason being that I was busy finishing stuff! I'm back now, and here's my annual show report of Austrian Salute.

Showcase: Dark Souls Gaping Dragon

 

Heyhey, it's time for some Dark Souls. This time it's just one figure, but it's a special one - the Gaping Dragon, from the Dark Souls boardgame expansion of the same name.

Showcase: Inquisitorial Retinue

 

Heyhey, here's a bunch of lovely classics from a bit after the turn of the millenium - Inquisitorial henchmen. A few of those I own in my own Witch Hunters collection, some of them I never worked with before. Either way, it was great painting them (again).

Showcase: Iyanden Fire Dragons

 

Heyhey, here's a bunch of lovely Aeldari aspect warriors,and their phoenix lord as well! All figures prior to the release of the latest plastics. Fuegan is the OG one, the rest of the figures are 4th edition I think, right? 

Lovely figures, because they're Aeldari. GW liked them too; it landed me a community spotlight thing in a livestream of theirs.

Heyhey, here's some Napoleonics again! And Spanish at that! And hussars at that! So everybody should be pleased. At least I am.

Showcase: Battlemechs!

 

Here are some figures from my own collection (ie painted for myself) for a change. For the past few months, Battletech (classic and Alpha Strike) have been a big thing in our gaming group and beyond in the area.

So I got the Battletech box. And played a bunch of games. And now, that we're embarking on our Aces campaign, it was time I finally got my starter box 'mechs painted! It was a quick affair, the colour scheme monstly determined by trying to avoid colour schemes other players in the area used already. The warning stripes to determine the front edge of the base is something I nicked from other Battlemechs I painted as a commission a while ago.

Show Report: Vienna Comic Con 2025

 

Heyhey, I spent the past weekend at Vienna Comic Con (VIECC) at exhibition centre Vienna. My third year there, I was invited by WoW/Keepers Club to join their area, run painting workshops, etc.

This is my picture report of the weekend; very light on material on tabletop wargaming/miniatures, but heavy on everything else.

Show Report: 9th Late Fall

 

Heyhey, I got to spend most of the weekend in lovely St.Georgen,Salzburg for Comitatus Club's annual Late Fall event.

Showcase: 40th Foot (2nd Somerset)

 

Heyhey, time for some historicals again, and Napoleonics at that! This is the 40th regiment of Foot (2nd Somerset) in 28mm!

Lovely choice of figures there, depicting the typical firing line in Spain. The back rank is Perry miniatures, the kneeling figures in the front are Brigade figures (I think). Also, showing a lovely colour party with officers, a horse-mounted officer and a dog! Flags by GMB.

Very cool unit of infantry, on properly nice, big bases, which always adds to the look. Hope you like them!

Heyhey, it's been a while since I last did a review of a kit. So let's get back on this by taking a closer look at Warlord Games' plastic Sd.Kfz.250 (Alte).

Showcase: Imperial Harbingers Reinforcements!

 

Heyhey, it's Space Marines time! Reinforcements for the Imperial Harbingers I painted in 2023, most of them in the latest version of tactical dreadnought armour. Fun figures, and I really enjoy the restrained colour scheme. Hope you like them!
